Eddie Howe has been a prominent figure in AFC Bournemouth’s history.  He spent time there as a player and is now in charge as manager of the club.

Howe was just 29 when he was promoted to the position of player-coach by the then manager Kevin Bond.  He began coaching the reserve side while still playing in the first team.

In January 2009 he was hired as permanent manager.  Against all the odds he brought the Cherries out of the Football League Two relegation zone.

In the following season he guided the side to promotion to League One.  When he returned to the club in October 2012 he celebrated another promotion after finishing as runners-up in the third division.

The 2015/16 season the Cherries reached the Premier League, with Howe’s side capturing the Championship title after an unforgettable season.

Howe has since been the cornerstone behind establishing AFC Bournemouth as a Premier League club.  He has now guided them through two successful top-flight campaigns, with a very successful start to the 2018-19 campaign.

Eddie was Tom’s Centre of Excellence manager and mentor at AFC Bournemouth in 2007 and learned a great deal from him.  Tom says: “To have had such a positive knowledgeable coach guide me in the early days was an incredible privilege.  I’m grateful to Eddie for all he has done for me as a young coach”.
